RESEARCH

Our lab uses experimental and theoretical tools from physics to advance our understanding of the biology of microorganisms, the most abundant and varied group of living organisms. Although this is intended in a broad sense, at the moment we are focussing on three specific areas:
  • dynamics of eukaryotic flagella
  • single-cell motility and environmental cues
  • bacteria-host interactions

We strive for integration of quantitative experimental results and mathematical modelling, usually based on a minimal description of the system.
